things seen in new york…

so, i know i’m a bad photographer for not taking many pictures but i spent the first couple weeks here convinced i was going to get mugged and have my precious baby camera stolen from me. here’s what i did capture when i managed to go out during the daytime with at least one other person to watch my back.

world languages day 2010…

i volunteer every year at world languages day because i had such a great time at it when i went in high school. this year i was a staff member which was awesome cuz i get a special shirt and get to boss people around :-P i took a bunch of pictures of the volunteers, a few presenters and many less students. here’s a few of the shots i got.

100 strangers…

i’m working on a project to boost my creativity. it’s called a “100 strangers project”. the idea is pretty straightforward. here’s the first set.

NO H8…

so i decided to start a gallery of photos in the style of the anti-proposition 8 campaign. i hope you like them. please support the campaign: NO H8 Campaign.

gossip girl…

i was going through some pictures trying to throw together a half-decent portfolio and i came across one that suddenly struck me as funny. 10 minutes of photoshop later, i came up with this:

the hotness…

well, it’s really been a while since i’ve posted anything. anyway, here are some pictures that my old roommate and i took while we were celebrating our fake monthiversary. enjoy:

shooting the other band…

a bit ago i took pictures of this band that was playing at a local bar. it was practically painful since there was almost no available light on the band. there was a little bit leaking out from the bar and one purple spotlight on the singer. i have no idea how i exposed anything at all. anyway, the band was called Wine Me Up and here’s a few good ones:

the national aviary…

here’s a few photos i took while visiting the national aviary. it was actually rather unimpressive for being the national one but whatever. there was still some cool stuff and some really awesome penguins. and just for a sense of scale: the crazy dodo-looking bird is actually about three feet tall. it’s the goofiest thing i’ve ever seen in my life and it’s call sounds like kathy griffin laughing. enjoy:

pittsburgh zoo…

here’s a few pictures that i took while i was visiting a friend in pittsburgh:

quinceanera…

a while back i shot my friend’s niece’s quinceanera. here’s a couple shots from it:
