fun pictures…

[UPDATE] so, i finished what i wanted to edit in the pics i took the other day and wanted to share them. i’m just going to replace the images that were up already since i’m posting two better copies anyway. please leave a comment about which one you like best or what you think of any of them. thanks!

i was just out taking pictures for a client and decided to do a little something for me while we were at it. i wanted to have some fun with the poker room in our building so we went there and played with the lights. if you’re interested in lighting or how i balanced things, feel free to leave a comment.

fuzzy!

so, another blog that i follow that i would like to plug is ZooBorns. the blog focuses exclusively on animals recently born in captivity or rescued from dangerous conditions in the wild to be rehabilitated. there are some really touching stories on there like a recent one about a koala who was apparently hit by a shotgun blast and survived with the help of a very caring team of doctors. most of is is just plain cuteness though. if you like adorable tiny fuzzy things(sometimes not tiny, eg. rhino)(sometimes not fuzzy, eg. lizards)(sometimes not adorable, eg. basically any baby bird) then this blog is for you. and as with the other blogs that i will be promoting, you can find a link to it in the right sidebar.

the good, the bad and the ugly…

today’s good bad and ugly is based on actors.

the good: james franco
his performance in 127 hours was spectacular. it must have been difficult to try and convey all that emotion and pain and he did it brilliantly. not gonna lie, the end of the movie totally creeped me out but he never does. i love his acting and his face and i named my camera after him.

the bad: robert pattinson
why? because nobody in their right mind should ever deign to play a teenage vampire that glitters in the sunlight. i haven’t seen these movies and i don’t intend to. i’m sure he did a wonderful job acting or something. saving grace: he’s pretty. and you can’t shake a stick at that.

the ugly: will ferrel
will, you have never made a good movie, you ruin what could have been decent scripts and quite frankly i don’t even consider you an actor. actors actually have to pretend and lie and fake that they are somebody else; you’re just a giant asshat who tells jokes that are never funny. i would really appreciate it if you would either change everything that you do or just stop acting all together. you disappoint and offend me.

mmmm vintage….

i just got an awesome Asahi Pentax for xmas. I’m really excited to try it out. keep watching for a full review of this great camera.

that’s muh boy!

took a few pictures the other night to work out some kinks in my lighting setup. i could really use some radiopoppers lol. here’s a few of the test shots:

dumbo dumbo…

i just like saying that. anyway, here’s pictures from last night as promised. i didn’t really actually take any until somebody asked me to haha. i’ll get more next time i guess. these seem like really cool events and i’m looking forward to attending another one. if you’re in the new york area and interested, check out Digital Dumbo and maybe i’ll see you there!

twas the night before wednesday…

i’m trying to take my portfolio in a new direction and asked a friend of a friend to model for me. here’s a few pictures from that set:

bryant park fiasco…

the other day i had the brilliant fortune to wind up in midtown at the same time an event was taking place. the people of Improv Everywhere were making a scene again and this time at Bryant Park. participants were all listening to their headphones which instructed them to do things like cuddle with a pair of sneakers, do silly walks, follow strangers around(i was one of the unfortunate strangers! about 40 people were following me in line!), sing happy birthday to a guy named steve, make toilet paper mummies and exchange gifts. all in all there were about 4,000 people participating. it was really wild to watch and i’m hoping that next time i can participate. here’s some pics i took while i was out:

things seen in new york…

so, i know i’m a bad photographer for not taking many pictures but i spent the first couple weeks here convinced i was going to get mugged and have my precious baby camera stolen from me. here’s what i did capture when i managed to go out during the daytime with at least one other person to watch my back.
